Tyrone Ladies Narrow Win
Sunday 27.04.2025

Tyrone ladies senior team travelled to Kinawley to take on Fermanagh in the Intermediate championship. Both sides were slow to settle but Fermanagh were first to score and after ten minutes led 0-2 to 0-0.
Tyrone broke their duck and with twelve minutes on the clock had tied the game at 0-2 apiece following points from Ellie Mc Namee and Aoife Horisk.
However Fermanagh were enjoying plenty of possession and opportunities and with the clock ticking down in the first half the Erne county had moved 1-4 to 0-2 in front. Points from Horisk and Sorcha Gormley narrowed the gap before Niamh O’Neill pointed to send the teams into the break with Tyrone under pressure and trailing 1-7 to 0-5.
The Red Hands began the second half with a goal from Niamh O’Neill and another Sorcha Gormley point. The teams swapped points before Fermanagh found the net again and moved clear on a score line of 2-9 to 1-8. The pressure began to build and as the clock showed ten minutes remaining Tyrone realised their backs were really up against the wall. Tyrone hit the net again courtesy of Emer Cunningham but two minutes later Fermanagh scored their last score of the game on fifty two minutes.
Tyrone added goals from Niamh O’Neill and Aoibhin Mc Hugh and late points from Sorcha Gormley and Aoife Horisk to claim the win on a scoreline of 4-10 to 3-11.
