Ulster Under 16 Championship
Tyrone 11-23
Antrim 3-9
Tyrone Ladies Under 16 side put Antrim to the sword 11-23 to 3-9 when the teams met in the Ulster Championship last Friday at Moy. In a high scoring game the young Red Hands proved far too strong and experienced for their opponents with Áine Sherry in particular having a night to remember finishing the game with a personal tally of 6-3.
Tyrone will face a much sterner examination when they face Derry this week. A win in that game would see them earn a place in the platinum final. Tyrone were on top from the first whistle and after a blitzkrieg of goals from Sherry and her team mates reached the break in total control leading 7-13 to 1-3. The pace of scoring slackened off somewhat after the restart but Tyrone were never in trouble and coasted to a comfortable win in the end.
Emma Conroy rattled over 0-11 with further goals from Shauna Mc Crory, Mya Williamson, Sorcha Gormley, Ella Mc Caffrey and Emma Holmes. Aine Grimes also contributed to the haul in a more than comfortable win.
