The minor ladies team took on Donegal this afternoon in the Ulster Championship at Killeeshil and defeated the Tir Chonnail girls 2-16 to 3-5. There was some dispute over Donegal’s last score which many felt was a goal. A strong breeze favoured the home side in the first half and by the break Tyrone led 1-14 to a goal and seemed home and hosed. However Donegal enjoyed a second half revival and Tyrone looked nervous at times as they struggled to play against the wind in the second thirty minutes. This win sets Tyrone up for their last game in the competition which is another home fixture this time against Armagh. It is scheduled to take place on the 3rd of May and should Tyrone win that they will qualify for the Ulster final. Teri Mc Cusker top scored on the day with six points while others to find the target were Laura Mc Sorley 0-5, Orla Mallon, Anne Scullion, Michaela Mc Guigan 0-1 each while Louise Kelly scored one of her team’s two goals and Alice Mc Nally hit 1-1.
