The Tyrone squad will head off this afternoon to Galway knowing that a win in this game would virtually ensure promotion with two league games remaining. However they will not be expecting any favours from the Tribesmen who themselves have shown that they are well capable of competing for the top spot as well. The Westerners know that a win on Sunday in Tuam will take them to within a point of Tyrone and strengthen their push for automatic promotion. Under Joe Kernan Galway enjoyed a comfortable win over Tyrone at the same venue a couple of years ago but this looks like a different Tyrone team. With Sean Cavanagh returning to the starting line-up and hoping to prove a point or two and Tyrone working exceptionally hard all over the field, the Red Hands are certainly capable of continuing their winning run. However Alan Mulholland’s side have shown against both Derry and Meath that they are a side capable of winning the big games and should Tyrone fail to maintain their recent high level of performance Galway could pip them.
