ULSTER SFC | The Reds March Into Semi Final
Sunday 01.11.2015

Trillick St Macartan’s will contest the Ulster Senior Football Club Championship semi final in a fortnight’s time thanks to a one point win over Donegal champions Glenties in Ballybofey this afternoon. The Reds started sharply with Niall Gormley finding the Glenties net inside the 3rd minute.
Donegal county man Anthony Thompson received a straight red card for a headbutt in the 13th minute and after that Trillick took control of the remainder of the half with points from Lee Brennan and Richard Donnelly. Daire Gallagher’s 31st minute goal ended a perfect half of football for the Tyrone men as they went into the break with a six point lead 2-4 to 0-4.
Glenties began the second period with plenty of fire and a point from Johnny McLoone was followed up by a Ciaran Thompson goal to narrow the gap to just two points. McLoone and Brennan traded points before late scores from Richard Donnelly and Lee Brennan helped ease Trillick across the line. Dare Gallagher had an excellent chance to goal in the dying seconds but his shot missed the posts.
Trillick now march on to play Monaghan champions Scotstown in the Ulster semi final in two week’s time.
