Tyrone are through to the Ulster under-21 final with a notable five point win over Down, Caolan Daly putting the seal on their semi-final victory over Down with his third point of the proceedings in injury time, Tyrone’s third point without reply. Raymond Munroe’s side have finished this game well after a shaky period during the second half and they can now look forward to a crack at the Ulster title…

For much of this contest tonight Tyrone were calling the shots but they were suddenly asked some serious questions for a spell in this second half and they responded really well to keep Down at bay in the closing stages. The Red Hands used five subs in all tonight, with Peter Mallon, Padraig McNulty, Conan Grugan, Johnny Munroe and Shay McGuigan all coming on…

Tyrone have eased the pressure on themselves a little with the last two scores but they’ve also missed a couple of chances to extend their advantage, so it remains a four point game with a minute of normal time remaining and it looks like Tyrone may have weathered the storm and are going to hold on for a place in the 2012 Ulster under-21 final…

This game was transformed by that Down goal and just as many were thinking that Tyrone were coasting into the Ulster final, Down were suddenly just two points in arrears and appeared to have all the momentum, but Tyrone have come back in the last few minutes with two crucial scores courtesy of Peter Mallon and Conor McAliskey and they’ve got a bit more breathing space again, although this is far from over, Tyrone leading by four, 0-15 to 1-8…

Down manage two more points, with Tommy Canavan grabbing a point between, but the complexion of the match changes significantly with 11 minutes to go as Down’s increasing pressure pays off with the opening goal of the night, and a follow up point from the Mournemen leaves just two points between the teams with nine minutes remaining, 0-13 to 1-8…

Down notch their first point since the restart but Tyrone waste little time widening the gap to seven points again as the talented Caolan Daly doubles his own personal tally for the evening with another fine point. It’s now 0-12 to 0-5 and this is looking good for Tyrone as the second half progresses…

Tyrone continue to perform well here in Casement Park in the early stages of the second half against Down as Darren McCurry and Tommy Canavan shoot two more points to give Raymond Munroe’s side a very promising seven point lead, 0-11 to 0-4, with six minutes gone in the half…

Down pull one back but Tyrone are going well tonight and another Conor McAliskey point, following good work by Niall Sludden, restores the five point cushion before half time. Richard Donnelly is then denied by an upright as Tyrone continue to press forward in pursuit of an Ulster final place…

Tyrone move into a healthy five point lead as Caolan Daly adds his name to the scoresheet with a stylish finish, his first score of the championship, and Darren McCurry swings over two more points to send the Red Hands into a 0-8 to 0-3 lead with 23 minutes gone at Casement Park…

Tyrone regain the two point lead with 12 minutes played as the in form Darren McCurry lobs over an excellent point to give the Red Hands a 0-5 to 0-3 advantage after a high scoring opening to this match…

Tyrone have made a fine staart to this Ulster under-21 semi-final clash with Down at Casement Park, the Red Hands leading by two points, 0-4 to 0-2, with ten minutes gone, Richard Donnelly hitting Tyrone’s fourth score of the evening with a quality finish. It’s the Trillick man’s second score of the night, with Conor Clarke and Conor McAliskey also on target in the opening stages…

There are two changes to the Tyrone team from the quarter final win over Donegal. Caolan Daly replaces John McCullagh in the full forward line for his first start of the season and Harry Og Conlon starts instead of Brian McGarbey.
Darren Mc Anenly, Barry Tierney, Dean Mc Nally, HP Mc Geary, Niall Sludden, Sean Warnock, Tiernan Mc Cann, Richard Donnelly, Conor Clarke, Stefan Tierney, Thomas Canavan, Harry Og Conlon, Darren Mc Curry, Conor Mc Aliskey, Caolan Daly
