County vocationals win v St Mary’s

Tyrone vocationals are up and running in terms of their Inter-County Cup launch on November 18th, writes Damien Donnelly.

The squad play Cavan in an Ulster quarter-final contest in two weeks time and they warmed up via a challenge match today(Nov 4th) with Magherafelt St Mary’s.

Manager Brian McGuckian was delighted with the St Mary’s match won by Tyrone on a 3-14 to 1-14 scoreline, as it gave players the chance to get some game play experience together ahead of their impending Inter-County Cup date.
.
Sean Hackett, Barry Potter and Declan McClure netted the majors, with Shea Coney, Tony McCann, Mark Bradley and Enda  McGahan among the  Red Hand point providers.

Tyrone hope to play another challenge match next week, details to be rubber-stamped in due course.

A venue has yet to be confirmed for that Tyrone v Cavan quarter-final on the 18th, throw-in time 12.30pm. It should be a decent tussle between two counties keen to make an impression in this season’s competition.
