Beragh 3-8 Omagh 3-5
Beragh are the Tyrone U14 Grade 2 Championship winners following victory over Omagh in Dunmoyle this afternoon.
The Red Knights got off to the perfect start hitting the Omagh net in the 4th minute. Jack Devlin with an excellent finish.
Aidan Farley added the opening point of the contest in the 5th minute followed by an opening point for Omagh from Daithi Teague a minute later. Oisin Porter clipped over Beragh’s next point before the scoring dried up for both sides. It took some 14 minutes for the next point to be registered.
Oisin Porter finding the range before another Porter this time Odhran kicked Beragh’s third point in the 23rdminute. The five point gap became eight with seven minutes to go to the break. Eoghan Loughran slotting the ball to the bottom right hand corner of the Omagh net.
Omagh’s Eoin Cunningham hammered dome a goal for the St Enda’s men in the 26th minute and the final score of the half came from a Jack Devlin goal in the 32nd minute. Half time score Beragh 3-3 Omagh 1-1.
The Red Knight’s extended the eight point lead to nine in the 39th minute thanks to a Sean Boyle point from play. The St Enda’s men didn’t fold. An Eoin Cunningham point with fifteen minutes to go was followed by two Omagh goals. First Nathan O’Hagan finished to the net and then Eoin Cunningham brilliantly turned the ball to the Omagh goal to reduce the deficit to just two points.
Beragh were in trouble but two points from Oisin Porter and Sean Boyle settled their nerves. A brace of Oran McCarney points had the contests back to two points with six minutes to go and it was left to man of the match Aidan Farley to hit another two points for Beragh to see them over the line. The final score of the game went to Omagh via Oran McCarney.
