Coney A Major Doubt for Tyrone
Sunday 15.04.2012
Tyrone have been dealt a blow ahead of their Allianz National League Division Two clash with Kildare in two weeks time with the news that key attacker Kyle Coney could be a major doubt.
Coney, who top scored during Tyrone’s unbeaten seven game run in division two with 0-24 to his name, had to go off with a groin injury ten minutes from time in Ardboe’s opening league game with Greencastle yesterday afternoon.[Sunday] He had scored four points at that stage to help his side win but faces a race against time to be ready to face the Lilywhites.
Elsewhere Conor Gormley was taken off with a foot injury in Carrickmore’s drawn match with Errigal, Justin McMahon was substituted due to a tight hamstring and Owen Mulligan sustained a dead leg in the closing stages of Cookstown’s win over Eskra.
These injuries are unlikely to rule any of the players out of the Croke Park decider.
