Moy got their season off on a winning note with an emphatic 0-14 to 0-3 win at home to Gortin with Sean Cavanagh and Hugo Mackle among the points for the hosts, Kevin Mossey on target for the visitors. Pomeroy defeated Galbally 2-12 to 0-13 at Pearse Park with John Loughran and Stephen McKenna getting their goals, Mickey Murphy with four points for the home side.
Cookstown had an emphatic victory at home to Eskra with John Gilmore and Shea McGarrity getting their goals with Joe McCarroll getting a couple of points for Eskra as it finished 2-8 to 0-5. Rock had to stage a late fightback to earn a draw at Sigerson Park against Strabane. Michael Etherson got the only goal of the game with Fergal McGavigan kicking a number of points but Conor McCreesh was the leading scorer on the day and it was he who hit a late equaliser as it finished 0-12 to 1-9.
Aghyaran got off to a good start when they made home advantage count against Loughmacrory. Anthony Devine got the only goal of the game with Aidan Connolly and Ronan Ward supplying points for their respective sides as it finished 1-10 to 0-8. It finished honours even between Urney and Augher 1-10 apiece. Jamie Donnelly and Fergal McNulty were among the points for their respective sides in the first half and when Francis McMeel got a third quarter goal for the St.Macartans they looked to be on their way to victory. Johnny Lafferty and Stephen Lafferty responded with points before the St.Columbas hit the front with a Ronan Lafferty goal before Sean Hackett saved the day for the visitors.
