Edendork Complete Minor Double

Edendork completed a Grade Three minor double on Wednesday evening when they had twelve points to spare over a gallant Beragh side in the championship final at Killeeshil.
The Red Knights opened the scoring in the third minute when Conor Martin converted a free from close range. However that was as good as it got for the boys in red. Edendork hit seven points in a row with Odhran Donnelly and Emmett Hughes among the scores.
Beragh closed the gap with a converted Finn Grimes penalty seven minutes from the break but a trio of points from the Edendork lads saw them go in at the break leading 0-10 to 1-1.
Edendork enjoyed the ideal start to the second half when Luke Ferguson found the net twenty seconds after the restart and although Beragh battled gamely they had no answer to a rampant Edendork side. Hughes, Donnelly, Niall Corr, Niall Mc Alinden and Ryan Mc Curry were all on target as the St Malachys eased to a 1-19 to 1-7 win and a well deserved league and championship double.
