J & K U16 Championship Wrap Up

Errigal Ciaran are safely through to the semi finals of the grade one U16 Championship after they proved too strong for a battling Moy side at home. The winners laid the platform for their victory in the first half and while Moy fought back in the second period they had left themselves with too much to do. Shea McDermott was in superb scoring form for the winners finishing with 2-8 to his name with Charlie Maguire and Ciaran Mullin getting their other goals with Senan Canavan 0-3, Keelan Neill, Elliot Kerr and Mullin 0-2 hitting points.
Beaten league finalists Carrickmore are into the last four as well after accounting for Trillick. Michael McCallan and Shea Munroe were among the goals for the St.Colmcilles with Vincent Gormley, Ryan Donaghy, Cal McAleer and Munroe hitting points and Padraig McCrystal, Finbar Donnelly and Niall McKenna playing well. Sean Corry bagged a hattrick of goals for the St.Macartans with Ryan McGurren firing home a rasper as well while Tadgh Britton, Corry and Fintan Doyle all scored points.
Fintona produced their best display of the season to secure a convincing win over league champions Ardboe. Diarmuid Martin and Tiernan Donnelly scored a brace of goals each for the Pearses with Tom Gallen and Cillian Loane also raising green flags while Peter Colton, Martin, Paudi Goodman and Liam Griffiths all contributed points. Oliver Colton, Gallen and Owen Griffiths all stood out in defence for the winners with the twin threat of Donnelly and Martin to the fore up front. Darragh Devlin hit 1-3 for the Rossas with JP Doris 0-3, Darragh Muldoon 0-2 and Jamie Concannon 0-1 notching points.
Greencastle booked their place in the semi final of the grade two championship thanks to a hard earned win away to neighbours Both Domhnaigh. Sean Og Teague top scored for the winners with 0-8 to his name with Shane Molloy getting their goal and Shane Morris 0-2, Marcus Conway 0-1 and Dara Morris 0-1 points. It was a mature performance from the winners with Eoghan Conway, Seonag Harte, Michael McElduff and Caolan Tracey playing well also. Mark Kennedy 0-4, Harley Patton 0-2, Eoin Maguire and Lucas McGarvey had points for Both Domhnaigh with Sean Harley getting their goal with keeper and Captain Darragh Ellis superb throughout making a number of brilliant saves.
League champions Drumragh are through to the semi finals of the grade three championship after beating Drumquin. Dylan Lowry 2-1, Conor Gormley 0-4, Shay Donnell 1-0, Aidan McCarney 0-2, Oran Barrett 0-2, James Fyffe 0-1, Connor McLaughlin 0-1 and Ryan Baxter 0-1 were the scorers for the Sarsfields. Eoin Ferris and Jake Donnelly were among the scorers for the Wolfe Tones with Hugh Gormley, Tristan Devine and Darragh Mullin all playing well too.
Dromore lost out to Carrickmore in an entertaining Development championship quarter final. Tom Maguire weighed in with 3-3 for the St.Dympnas with other scores coming from Cormac Hagan 0-2, Conor McQuaid, Nathan McCusker and Owen McCusker.
Errigal Ciaran were beaten by Cookstown in the Development quarter final. Lorcan Murray played well in defence for Errigal Ciaran with Dan Neill and Matthew Hackett strong in the middle and Ronan Fleming taking some great scores up front.
