The semi-final line up for the Time Venue Intermediate football championship has been confirmed after Loughmacrory beat Donaghmore at Kildress. St Theresa’s will now face Ardboe while Omagh and Sperrin Og will go head to head in the other semi-final.

Donaghmore crashed out of the championship at the hands of a determined Loughmacrory with the St Theresa’s claiming a first win of the season in this quarter final.  At one stage of the second half Loughmacrory led by eight points after Donaghmore had dominated the second quarter with Natasha Hughes goal cancelling out Emily Donaghey’s strike for Loughmacrory.

The sides were level at the break but 0-8 without reply by a rampant Lough side put them in the driving seat and on course for a last four spot. A late 1-1 from Helen McAleer  and a Mollie McGahan point cut the gap to three but it was too little too late for a Donaghmore side that had been fancied to progress.

Donaghmore did have plenty of chances. Rebecca McCrory, Megan McCann and Emma Hegarty all forced saves from Kellie Boyle but on the balance of play Loughmacrory, who have had a difficult league campaign, deserved the win with Edel Donaghey and Eimear Slane marshalling the defence.  Loughmacrory pair Aisling Quinn and Emily Donaghy controlled the midfield sector too, with Donaghy managing to score 1-2. Team mate Lisa McAleer bagged 0-4 on a night when eight different Lough players were on target.
