Loughmacrory 0-11 Rock 0-10

Loughmacrory took another step towards a quick return to senior football when they withstood a late rally at home to Rock on Saturday afternoon to come through this promotion play off encounter with the minimum to spare.

The St.Theresas were the better side for three quarters of the game and at the break they held a 0-6 to 0-2 advantage with Enda Ward getting all bar one of their scores and Stephen Donaghy their other marksman, Ryan Crilley and Conor McCreesh on target for Rock. In the third quarter the home side increased their advantage with scores from Donaghy, Ward and substitute Karl Logue but in the final quarter they had only a point from wing back Ryan O’Brien to show for their efforts as Rock fought back. McCreesh matched Ward’s seven point haul with teenager Aidan McGarrity also on target but the visitors couldn’t find an equaliser and they finished with fourteen men after midfielder Neill Mallon aws sent off for second yellow card offence late on.

Loughmacrory scorers – Enda Ward 0-7, Stephen Donaghy 0-2, Karl Logue 0-1, Ryan O’Brien 0-1
Rock scorers – Conor McCreesh 0-7, Ryan Crilley 0-1, Aidan Girvan 0-1, Aidan McGarrity 0-1
