McCann Boost For Tyrone
Monday 30.04.2018

Tyrone have received a major boost ahead of their Ulster championship opener with Monaghan on May 20th with the news that attacking halfback Tiernan McCann returned to action yesterday afternoon.
McCann lined out in the halfback line for his club Killyclogher in a division one league game away to Moy. McCann hadn’t played since February 11th when he cracked his kneecap in the closing seconds of Tyrone’s National league win over Kildare in Newbridge.
An MRI scan confirmed his worst fears and he had to wear a leg brace for a number of weeks. He recently returned to training and the fact that he has now got much needed game time under his belt couldn’t have come at a better time with the clash with Malachy O’Rourke’s charges only three weeks away.
McCann has been an integral part of Tyrone’s half back line as they secured back to back Ulster triumphs and if he can be back in time it would be a massive boost as the Red Hands bid to win the Anglo Celt Cup for a third year in a row for the first time in their history.
