Naomh Brid collected the grade 3 U14 Championship title when they held off a spirited challenge from Killeeshil in an entertaining decider at Garvaghey on Saturday afternoon.
Killeeshil enjoyed a dream start with a Charlie Hughes goal but the rest of the half belonged to Naomh Brid. Ghost Pizza man of the match Caolan McKee scored two goals as well as a few points with Patrick Quinn and James McParland also on target as they led 2-6 to 1-3 at the break.
Eoghan Gormley got an early second half goal for Killeeshil before McKee replied with two frees. Going into the final ten minutes two quick goals from Luke McCoubrey and Jack Holland left it all square. Naomh Brid were under pressure but at the back Daire O’Neill was outstanding for them and they won the game with a late Enda Mc Mullan goal.
