No Action Before Easter

Following an Irish government decision that inter-county Gaelic Games are not covered under level five exemptions for elite sports the prospects of any meaningful GAA action this side of Easter appear remote.

There are implications for both the club and county seasons ahead and with the GAA’a Covid Advisory Group reckoning on nothing happening before Easter the possibility of a starting date looks far from clear at present.

In the meantime the government will publish an updated “Living With Covid Plan” which will hopefully give a clearer indication on when a return to action looks possible. For county managers hoping to get back into training and preparing their panels for the 2021 season, it looks like Zoom calls and online meeting will continue for the foreseeable future.
