Omagh Lift Four Scor na nOg Titles.

Sunday 27.11.2011
Team Talk Mag
Club

The final of the Tyrone Scor na nOg competition took place this afternoon and was notable for three things: Omagh St Endas landed four out of the eight titles on offer, long term Fear a Ti Cormac Mc Aleer announced his retirement from hosting the competition and chairman of the culture committee Donal Magee informed the audience that he was standing down after five years at the helm. Those who follow Scor will acknowledge that the competition has reached new heights under Donal’s stewardship as the number of All Ireland titles has increased significantly. He and his committee members have made huge strides in developing Scor and ensuring higher levels of participation and higher standards among the clubs. Both himself and Cormac will be sorely missed by all supporters of Scor and Scor na nOg.
However today really belonged to Omagh St Endas as they lifted the Ceili Dancing, Recitation, Ballad Group and Novelty Act titles on what was a fantastic achievement for the club and their young members. The other titles went to Greencastle, Solo singing, Carrickmore, Set Dancing, Fintona Instrumental Music and Trillick Quiz. Congratulations to all our Scor na nOg County Champions and best wishes in their forthcoming Ulster Semi Final which will see them take on their counterparts from Fermanagh and Donegal at Dun Uladh on Friday December 9th at 8:00pm. The Ulster Final will also be held in Tyrone and will take place in Galbally on Saturday January 14th 2012 with a 5:00 pm starting time.
