On The Road Win For Clarkes Over Omagh
Tuesday 03.06.2025

Monday night football saw Dungannon Clarkes travel to Omagh to take on St Endas in the Tyrone All County League Division One.
Played in difficult conditions Dungannon left with the points after a hard fought battle with corner forward James Quinn proving himself to be the Clarkes match winner.
A speculative shot from Conan Grugan evaded the Clarkes keeper and nestled neatly in the back of the Dungannon goals four minutes in to give Omagh the perfect start. The Clarkes replied with points from James and Paddy Quinn before Eoghan Mc Namee finished a well crafted chance over the bar to make it a two point game. Dan Haigney and Conan Campbell were on target for Omagh but James Quinn kept his team in the contest with a brace of well taken points. Conan Grugan landed a two pointer for Omagh to put four between the teams but a fine score from Kevin Barker just before half time sent the teams in at the break with Omagh leading 1-5 to 0-5.
Heavy rain and a strong wind made good football difficult but in spite of that the Clarkes managed to land several superbly struck two pointers. James Quinn fired over two scores shortly after the break but Conan Campbell replied with a point for Omagh, A Paddy Quinn point and two pointers from Dalaigh Jones and Matthew Quinn put the Clarkes 0-12 to 1-6 ahead as Omagh battled to stay in the game. A well taken goal from Ronan O’Neill got them back in the contest but they were still one behind. Another two pointer from Paddy Quinn and a well struck point from James Quinn helped stretch the Dungannon lead to four but a late goal from Fionnbhar Taggart gave the home team hope in the closing minutes.
Dungannon managed to deny Omagh possession however and ran the clock down before referee Mark Loughran blew the final whistle.
