Tyrone travelled to Buncrana on Saturday afternoon to take on their neighbours in the Buncrana Cup decider. With Loughmacrory lad Ruairi Mc Cullagh in imperious form hitting 4-2 they sealed the win and the title 4-10 to 0-15.

An early goal from Mc Cullagh and points from Matty Mc Nally and Conor Devlin gave Tyrone the ideal start. Tiernan Ward opened the Donegal account but the Tir Chonaill lads were rocked when scoring ace Mc Cullagh bagged his and his team’s second goal shortly after. John James Sweeney lofted over three points for Donegal as the teams reached the break with Tyrone 2-7 to 0-8 ahead.

Donegal opened the second half scoring with a point from Dylan Mulholland but almost immediately Mc Cullagh  ghosted in from the side and fired to the top corner to extend the gap. His fourth goal came shortly after when he got his fist to a Martin Mc Nally pass and Tyrone led 4-8 to 0-10. Donegal did battle well for the remainder of the half adding five further points to Tyrone’s two but the Red Hands were not to be denied and claimed the win and the cup on a final score of 4-10 to 0-15.

Tyrone scorers: Ruairí McCullagh 4-2, 1-0f; Kelvin Nelson 0-2; Matty McNally, Conor Devlin, Turlough Muldoon and Leo Hughes 0-1 each; Nathan Farry, 0-1, 45.
