Tyrone U16 Camogie Side Claim Win Over Donegal
Monday 10.07.2023

The Tyrone 16 team continued their unbeaten run in the championship with another good performance and victory this time against Donegal in Carrickmore. Both teams began well taking early scores in the opening minutes with one point separating the teams. The two goalkeepers were called upon to be alert in the opening quarter with good saves managing to keep the score down.
The Tyrone defence was strong, but Donegal were able to make the most of several set balls within scoring range to narrow the gap. For Tyrone the key players included Cora Quinn, Caoimhe Nelis and Aoife Grogan as many attacks were created by the ball being worked well up the field.
Half time Tyrone 4-7 Donegal 1-2
Tyrone manager Sean Moohan made several changes after the break and although Donegal grew in confidence and created a number of scoring opportunities thanks in particular to Caitriona McKinney and Aisling McGonagle, a last-minute goal from Sarah Jane Harnett still wasn’t enough to affect the outcome as the teams progress to next week’s semi-final knockout round.
