Connollys of Moy Tyrone SFC Quarter Final
Ardboe 1-14 Coalisland 0-11

Ardboe will play Errigal Ciaran in the semi final of the senior championship after they came through a gripping encounter with Coalisland in Pomeroy on Sunday afternoon in a contest that required extra time to decide.

It was 0-11 apiece at the end of normal time but in extra time the Rossas assumed control hitting 1-3 without reply as they came through on a 1-14 to 0-11 scoreline. With twenty minutes gone on the clock the Fianna led 0-5 to 0-2 thanks to a brace of points each from Tiernan Quinn and Sean Corr. Wind assisted Ardboe hit back though with the last four scores of the half from Kyle Coney (2), David Mulgrew and Shay McGuigan to give them a slender advantage.

A McGuigan free opened the second half scoring before defender Michael Cassidy landed an inspirational score for the Loughshore men. Frees from McGuigan and Coney put them in front by double scores 0-10 to 0-5 before Coalisland hit back. Quinn, Cormac O’Hagan, Peter Herron and Corr all registered before Michael McKernan levelled from out on the left wing. In injury time McGuigan edged Ardboe back in front but there was still time for a Quinn free to send it to extra time.

Ardboe had the wind at their backs in the first half of extra time and they hit points from Matthew Bell and Eugene Og Teague to give them a slender advantage. GO Power man of the match Conall Devlin really came to the fore as they held Coalisland scoreless with a well worked Oran Mulgrew goal proving decisive before Teague landed the final point.
