Clonoe Defeat Killyclogher By Four

Clonoe made the long run to Killyclogher this evening and in bright sunshine put the home side to the sword. In a strange game there was only a point between the sides twenty three minutes into the first half as the home side trailed 0-2 to 0-3 but the O’Rahillys hit 1-4 without reply in the closing seven minutes to reach the break coasting. Their goal was a thing of beauty and simplicity as a long ball into the full forward line was flicked to the net by the very alert and troublesome Danny Mc Nulty. Mc Nulty also landed a couple of excellent long range frees in a very commanding performance.
Killyclogher looked dead and buried at the break trailing by eight points but they started the second half strongly with a four point flurry to breathe life into a game that seemed over at the short whistle. Clonoe took a while to get going in the second half but Stephen Mc Nulty, PJ Lavery and Colly Doris ensured that they re-established control and eased to a 1-13 to 1-9 win.
