Father Rocks Take Title

Cookstown secured the grade three U16 league title at Galbally on Saturday afternoon when they defeated Derrylaughan 3-11 to 2-9. The Kevin Barrys led at the break with the impressive Liam Cushnahan hitting 1-2 but he got a harsh black card just before the break and that proved to be a key moment in the contest.
Eoghan Donnelly hit 1-4 for the winners with Sean Monaghan and Peter McGurk their other goal scorers while half time substitute Terry Devlin weighed in with four points. Ciaran McErlain scored 1-2 for Derrylaughan with Levon O’Hagan contributing four points but despite a late rally they came up short as Cookstown took the silverware.
