Clonoe

County champions Clonoe are into the quarter final of the senior championship after coming through a hard fought encounter with Errigal Ciaran on a 1-10 to 0-10 score line. The O’Rahillys dominated proceedings early on as they raced into a 0-6 to 0-1 lead with Connor McAliskey, Paul Coney, Danny McNulty and Patrick Doris among their points. Errigal Ciaran though hit back to only trail by the minimum margin at the break with Peter Harte, Darren Canavan and Damian Dasher McDermott supplying points, Clonoe reduced to fourteen men in first half injury time when Colm Doris was straight red carded. McNulty and McAliskey had early second half points for Clonoe with a Steafan Tierney effort sandwiched in between for the Dunmoyle based men.

Davy Harte and Bryan Horisk then brought the sides level but poor shooting let Errigal Ciaran down, they kicked thirteen wides with ten of those coming in the second half. With seven minutes to go substitute Tommy Canavan put Errigal Ciaran in front for the first time but three minutes later Ryan T O’Neill surged through for an all-important Clonoe goal. Coney tagged on a point as the O’Rahillys booked a last eight meeting with either Dromore or Killyclogher. A scuffle broke out at the final whistle which involved a number of players from both sides with Patrick Doris and Peter Harte both being brandished straight red cards.
